Groundswell are happy to announce the arrival of their second full length release… “SUPERSWEET”, out November 6 on Cavalier Music.

For the uninitiated Groundswell are a Melbourne based band comprising of Michael Snowball (guitar, vocals), Ivan Jakic (bass, vocals) & David Kleynjans (drums and percussion).

Since the mid nineties, these tireless pop perfectionists have been sending shivers down the spines of Melbournians and lovers of pop all around the world, releasing sporadic bursts of pure joy in 3 track slices to a privileged few, then a widely acclaimed Debut Album in 2002. As always honing their craft, keeping the smile on their face, and yours…

They're no stranger to the live circuit either, touring with acts such as Motor Ace, The Whitlams, Ice Cream Hands and Eskimo Joe, nor shy of working with other great engineers such as Wayne Connolly or Chris Thompson on past releases.

So now we have the second Long Player, 'SuperSweet', the title reflecting the infectious confection which these tunes represent, they will sway you away from your daily troubles, and have you singing along instantly. Featuring the best twelve songs of their career, not one, but two spirited songwriters, each with his own style and approach, but both seaming together to create an awe-inspiring sound, tailor made pop perfection…

Produced by the band, (recorded and mixed by Cavalier's Justin Skim), in between other commitments with Sophie Koh and Magneto, this record is truly a labour of love, a real testament to a band that never gave up trying to write the perfect pop song, and with this debut effort they've succeeded, and there's more than one gem to choose from.

With shining tunes such as 'Katrina' and the beautiful 'Sunday Feeling', the sound could be described somewhere between Teenage Fanclub and Elliott Smith, but then once its gone through your head a couple of times, comparisons to other bands seem superfluous.
